THURSDAY
We went to see Bombay Bicycle Club in Edmonton. This was the first band that we'd ever seen together (first of MANY) and the timing worked out great that we got to see them right before we left town.
FRIDAY
The next day, we headed for the airport and flew to Vancouver. We were originally scheduled to fly to Victoria the first night, but instead we went stopped short. As soon as we got into town we traveled downtown and went to our next concert. This time we saw Angus and Julia Stone, a brother/sister duo from Australia. This was particularly important for us as their song "Big Jet Plane" was our first dance a year before.

We finished off our evening with dinner and drinks with an old friend from Saskatchewan before heading to bed.
SATURDAY
After a too-early breakfast, we grabbed our bags and started strolling towards the waterfront. When we got there we saw our mode of transportation for the day.
This was Christina's first helicopter ride and my first in 20+ years. The views over the Georgia Strait were other-worldly.
Next on the agenda for anniversary/marathon weekend is a helicopter ride! pic.twitter.com/B0QHTaN0l4

Once we arrived in Victoria we wandered around for a bit before settling down for tea at the Empress Hotel. A ridiculously prized outing that made us feel a bit more like royalty than our outfits deserved.

MONDAY (ish)
After the race, we met up with my cousin and spent most of the rest of the day eating. Monday morning we had an amazing breakfast at Jam Cafe before heading out for some exploring around the country side before having to return home to a normal paced life again. But, for a couple of days, what a ride.
